広島もみじ（ヒロシマモミジ）
産地；広島県（県木）
広島県はイロハモミジやオオモモジなどカエデ科の樹木が多く、世界遺産の宮島、国の特別名勝の三段峡、国定公園の帝釈峡など紅葉の名所が数多くあります。
それにより県民にとっても身近な樹木で、そこからもみじ饅頭など銘菓が生まれました。
ちなみに「もみじ」という樹木はなく、葉が色づく樹木を「もみじ」といい、「揉み出づ（もみいづ）」＝色がにじみ出る、という古語に由来しています。

Origin: Hiroshima Prefecture (Prefectural Tree)
Hiroshima Prefecture is home to many maple trees, such as Iroha Momiji and Oomomiji (both species of the maple family). The region boasts numerous famous spots for autumn foliage, including the World Heritage site Miyajima, the nationally designated scenic beauty Sandankyo Gorge, and the Taishakukyo National Park. Because of this, maple trees are familiar and beloved by the residents, inspiring local specialties such as the famous Momiji Manju (maple-leaf-shaped sweet cakes).
Incidentally, there is no actual tree called “Momiji.” The term refers to trees whose leaves change color in autumn. It originates from the old Japanese expression “momi-izu”, meaning “to have colors emerge or blend out.”
