ヒバはアテともいわれ石川県の県木です。アテとは能登地方では古くから使われている名前です。ヒノキ科アスナロ属ヒノキアスナロの植物。
殺菌・消臭・防腐効果があるといわれています。
木目が美しく、フローリングや羽目板に使われることが多く、衝撃や傷にも強く強度的にも適しています。能登は1300年ほど昔「能登国」といわれていました。縄文時代の遺跡も多く出土し、古くから人々が住んでいたことが確認されています。

Origin: Ishikawa Prefecture (Prefectural Tree)
Hiba, also called Ate, is the prefectural tree of Ishikawa. In the Noto region, Ate has been used as a traditional name for a long time. It belongs to the cypress family (Hinoki-asunaro, genus Chamaecyparis).
It is said to have antibacterial, deodorizing, and preservative effects. The wood has a beautiful grain and is often used for flooring and wall paneling. It is also resistant to impact and scratches, making it strong and durable. Around 1,300 years ago, Noto was known as Noto Province. Numerous Jōmon-period archaeological sites have been discovered, confirming that people have lived in the area since ancient times.
